Have you ever heard about the history of ? It went long back, even before clock is invented by people! That’s right! Earlier we talk about how people uses the position of sun in sky to reckon time, However, this was far from a precise method and not particularly much good on days that were overcast Hence some clever inventor came up with the large sand timer to count time accurately and consistently.
The first sand hourglasses were manufactured from blown glass with special shape. Then glassblowers could heat the ahead until it turned into a malleable shape. Then other tools would be used to shape it into the hourglass silhouette that we know today. When the glass cooled, they would pour sand into it: the beginnings of a timer to measure time;
Once the glass with sand was filled up to seal it, it was very carefully examined for any crack or damage. Which is very crucial as, the hourglass can be ruined and would not function well with even a bit of disorder Once you have the glass just right filled with sand, turn it over so that the sand collects at one end of the hourglass. The hole is then covered with something as small and very elastic such a piece of plastic or rubber. It's such an clever design that sand resides inside until it is ready to be flipped and timed!
Sand timers are widely used tools for time management in our day to lives. Not just for eating, even exercise free, short time naps and actual studies can be done by these. An hourglass is nothing more complicated than a small device you flip over and set it for the time to talk (Figure 6): Now run: When you are out of sand, it is over!
A nice advantage of a sand hourglass is that it lets you allow to focus on the task at hand, distraction free from checking your clock every five minutes. It then increases the enjoyment in activities such as studying or cooking! I mean sand hourglasses are so cool to use, not like knowing that a beep is going off because the time is over.
Not only do these sand hourglasses serve a practical purpose, they are also stunning pieces of decor for our home. One of the best things here is that they are available in all sorts of shapes, sizes and colors which means you will not have to think about whether or not your decorative accessory collections at home work with them.
There are several different types of hour glasses and timers used which all have their own unique qualities. In other cases there are hourglasses with colored sand that gives them life, others have uncommon forms or patterns on the glass. Enter even weirder hourglasses with multiple smaller-hourglass-stacked-on-top-of-each-other designs meant to measure more than just one amount of time!
