Halloween is just around the corner and it promises to be tons of spooky fun! Other than dressing up anything we want and eating candy nonstop, Halloween is the best. Coming in at number four we have one of the most festive Halloween activity — pumpkin painting! Pumpkins are large, round and orange vegetables that grow on vines in gardens. Pumpkins are great for cooking and come in beautiful colors which is why they is one of the most favorite during this season.
Design your own — my favorite way to decorate a pumpkin is our very own design. Get creative and make your pumpkin look spooky, silly or anything you like! There are so many options! You really just need some basic craft supplies, like paint, glue glitter — you know the drill. You can also incorporate materials you might have around the house, like empty toilet paper rolls or colorful pipe cleaners to fancy up your pumpkin. Great way so you are not doing the same types of pumpkins over and over again!
Cut the lid from your pumpkin (for adults) — If you feel brave enough, create a scary face or another spooky design by using a knife to carve out patterns on its surface. Just always remember to ask an adult first and foremost!
Step 1: Pick Your Pumpkin – You want a nice, roundish pumpkin that sits well (e.g., flat bottom) so it doesn't fall over and the mouth can be cut around the base. This will make it easier to work with when carving and designing.
Pumpkin-carving kit — you can buy this at stores and it will contain all the tools needed to carve your pumpkin in a safe manner. Normally it comes with a knife,a scoop and even template to assist you.
Create a pumpkin vignette — Cut an oval window in your hollowed-out gourd, then make figures from Sculpey and arrange them inside with moss or leaves. It'll be like its own little Halloween world!
Make a pumpkin creature – Use other fruits and veggies like carrots, cucumbers or grape to create its body by your vegetable animal is headless without laughing out loud. Get creative and have fun!
