Pour gravel into the bottom of your container. This has a very important part that is responsible for drainage. When you gravel in place, the next step is to add your activated charcoal. Add the activated charcoal on top of it and add a layer of soil. This is where you will grow your plants.

The soil will tell you it needs some — touch the top of your terrarium. It is time to water your plant when the soil feels dry.
